Tech for Good award highlights the company’s innovative use of technology to improve lives and outcomes
Relias, the trusted education and workforce enablement partner to 12,000 healthcare and human services organizations and 4.5 million caregivers, today announced its win of the “Tech for Good” award at the annual NC TECH Awards, North Carolina’s only statewide technology awards program celebrating companies demonstrating innovation, growth, and leadership. This award recognizes organizations that use technology as a catalyst for meaningful social impact.
“At Relias, people are at the core of everything we do,” said Tina Krebs, Chief People Officer, Relias. “Innovation has enabled us to tackle some of healthcare’s most pressing challenges, creating opportunities to make care more effective and accessible. This recognition reinforces our drive to keep advancing solutions that empower caregivers and elevate the standard of care.”
Key examples of how Relias is driving change include:
- Combating maternal mortality: Relias OB has significantly improved maternal health by reducing care variation and advancing hospital performance. At UC Davis, obstetrics residents using Relias OB demonstrated a 9% increase in knowledge and an 8.4% improvement in clinical judgment, demonstrating its effectiveness.
- Transforming caregiving education: Relias’ healthcare education simulations, such as its EdTech Breakthrough award-winning A Day in the Life: An ASD Perspective, are designed to enhance empathy and understanding, leading to improved care quality for individuals with autism, dementia, and intellectual disabilities.
- Expanding access to training for home-based care: Responding to a surge in demand for home-based care, Relias’ multi-language online courses have enabled caregivers to receive training in their native languages, improving patient care and caregiver retention.
- Encouraging healthier work environments: Nurse.com, a Relias brand, introduced the Top Workplaces for Nursing Award in collaboration with Energage, recognizing those healthcare organizations actively fostering supportive environments for nurses and driving cultural improvements in the workplace.
“It’s incredible to witness how innovative content, paired with technology, can create meaningful change on multiple levels,” said Maria Samot, Senior Vice President of Content Development, Relias. “Receiving the Tech for Good Award is an honor because it reflects the progress we’ve made, and it’s also a call to action. We’re going to continue delivering engaging, effective solutions that address healthcare challenges and create lasting, positive impact.”
Relias has a strong track record with NC TECH, winning the “Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Tech” award in 2023, and placing as a finalist in two award categories in 2022.
