New hires bring familiarity, experience as Relias continues explosive growth

MORRISVILLE, NC, August 6, 2019 – Relias, a trusted partner to more than 10,000 healthcare organizations around the world and across the continuum of care, has announced the addition of four new members to its executive leadership team. Jarek Gabor joins from Bertelsmann as the new Chief Operating Officer; Mike Mutka returns to Relias in the role of Chief Product Officer; Brian Shannon steps into the role of Vice President, Sales and Stacy West joins as Vice President, Marketing. All four will report directly to Jim Triandiflou, CEO of Relias.

Gabor was most recently Chief Financial Officer of Bertelsmann’s Education Group. In his 13 years with Bertelsmann, Gabor has served as Senior Vice President of Mergers and Acquisitions for BMG Rights Management, and Global Head of Integration for Penguin and Random House. He spent the previous six years in Bertelsmann’s U.S. headquarters in New York. Prior to Bertelsmann Gabor spent five years with Deloitte.

Mutka returns to Relias full time after launching Straightaway Health Careers, part of the Bertelsmann Education Group, in 2017. Before launching Straightaway, Mutka served as Chief Strategy Officer and before that as Executive Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Relias. Prior to his time with Relias he served as President & Chief Operating Officer of Silverchair Learning which was acquired by Relias in 2012. While overseeing Straightaway, Mutka remained close to Relias, serving as a consultant. Mutka has spent his 30-year career in healthcare and has served as a board member for several healthcare organizations.

With Mutka’s return to Relias, the Straightaway product will become part of the Relias portfolio and the Straightaway team will be part of Relias, driving a better customer experience, making Relias technology investments more efficient, and allowing Straightaway access to more resources to scale and grow the business.

As Vice President, Sales, Shannon oversees all aspects of the business-to-business (B2B) sales operation, including hiring, training, developing and retaining sales team members. Shannon joined Relias after previously serving as Vice President, Hospital and Health System Sales for Premier Healthcare Alliance for nearly six years. Prior to that, he was President of Healthcare Finance Partners and held various sales roles at Boston Scientific, AT&T and EMC.

In her role as Vice President, Marketing, West will be responsible for the oversight, strategy, execution, and results of the global marketing organization including: brand, strategic marketing, events and trade shows, demand generation, and digital marketing. Prior to joining Relias, West was Vice President, Marketing at Austin, TX-based SolarWinds where she led a global marketing team focused on IT security and remote monitoring and management SaaS solutions. West has also held senior marketing positions at Canon USA and Hewlett-Packard.

“In the past few years Relias has grown from a pioneering start-up to a fast-growing company with over 10,000 clients and hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue.  Our next phase of growth will benefit from the ‘been there, done that’ experience of these talented executives,” explained Jim Triandiflou, CEO of Relias. “Jarek, Mike, Brian and Stacy bring a wealth of experience and leadership firepower to Relias that will be essential to our future success.”
