New Season Treatment Center Improves Training and Audit Readiness

New Season Treatment Center is a leading national provider of comprehensive outpatient treatment for opioid use disorder. Automating compliance readiness

Prior to partnering with Relias, New Season used manual attestation forms to track their staff’s compliance across its numerous centers. But as it continued to grow and offer services across so many states, this method became cumbersome and error prone. To improve its compliance workflow — and remove the risk of being found non-compliant — it turned to Relias.

Using Relias solutions, New Season was able to:

  • Implement state-specific compliance training.
  • Create real-time dashboards that enabled transparency and audit readiness.

After making these adjustments to their compliance program, New Season saw 25 percentage points increase in its compliance rate.

“Relias provides the tools to manage training requirements consistently and in alignment with state and accreditation requirements,” said Vanessa Gomez, Director of Talent Development for New Season Treatment Center.

Now that all its compliance training and attestation forms are located within one, centralized platform, New Season’s administrators can easily automate compliance tracking. “Along with the completion of courses, there’s an attestation that they have to complete, and that was all being done manually,” said Gomez. “Once I learned about the requirements tracker in Relias, we automated it, and it made things so much easier for tracking. It’s all in one place, people know where to find it.”

Improving accreditation processes

Similar to the work on compliance, Gomez’s team uses Relias to improve how it meets the needs of accreditation audits. With a large library of expert-created content, the ability to automate enrollment, and transparency into training completions, New Season has greatly improved the way it prepares its staff for accreditation.

“It definitely made our lives easier. We are CARF accredited, and I will say that when I first started, we used to get a lot of training recommendations from CARF auditors,” said Gomez. Thanks to the overhauls to its audit readiness program, New Season achieved zero training deficiencies in the latest CARF accreditation audit. “Our new hires get what they need right away — automated enrollment into CARF and state-specific curricula. We no longer worry about things falling through the cracks,” Gomez said.

Creating a culture of learning

Similar to the work on compliance, Gomez’s team uses Relias to improve how it meets the needs of accreditation audits. “Upskilling is definitely a big focus. How can we enable our workforce to gain additional experience education that can help them to grow and develop themselves, but also provide a higher level of care to our patients?” Gomez said.

With this mindset shift in place, New Season has seen great results. Over the past several years, it has achieved a consistent 99–100% training completion rate. “Overall, this platform isn’t just about training delivery — it’s about enabling our workforce, audit readiness, and compliance risk reduction,” Gomez said.
