After generating ideas for quality improvement changes your team will need to find ways to spread those changes. Most organizations face challenges in spreading good ideas. It is estimated that less than half of all performance improvement initiatives successfully transition from adoption to sustained implementation that spreads to more than one area of an organization.

Your facility may have these areas or islands of improvement but that just leads to significant variation in processes and outcomes. So, no matter what level of experience you have with quality improvement, it is never too early to plan for spread!
