The history of Relias

Vista Equity (founded under parent company Vista Equity Partners in 2000) acquired Essential Learning (founded under parent company LLR Partners in 2002).

In the same year, Vista acquired Silverchair Learning Systems (founded under parent company Silverchair Holdings, LLC in 1993), which served the post-acute care market.

These two acquisitions merged to become Relias Learning. Essential Learning’s CEQuick was rebranded as Relias Academy.

Relias Learning acquired Care2Learn (CTL) and Hospice Education Network (HEN), both in the post-acute care segment.

Relias Learning was acquired by global media company Bertelsmann.

In the same year, Relias Learning acquired Autism Training Solutions (ATS) in the behavioral health segment.

Relias Learning acquired Academy Medical and RediLearning, both in the post-acute care segment.

Relias Learning acquired Swank HealthCare, in the acute care B2C segment, Assessment Intelligence Systems (AIS), specializing in healthcare assessments and analytics, and AHC Media, in the acute care segment.

The AHC Media acquisition included the CE-web and CMEweb brands, which merged into the Relias Media, Relias Academy, and FreeCME brands.

Relias Learning acquired Advanced Practice Strategies (APS) (which included the Prophecy and GNOSIS brands), specializing in healthcare assessments and analytics, Care Management Technologies (CMT) and WhiteCloud Analytics, specializing in analytics, and Service und Projektmanagement GmbH (SPM), a Germany-based global workforce solution provider.

Relias Learning changed its name to Relias.

In the same year, it acquired OnCourse Learning (OCL), specializing in the acute, post-acute, and home care segments. This acquisition included Nurse.com, a learning and networking platform for nurses, Wound Care Education Institute (WCEI), Distance CME (DCME), and ContinuingEducation.com.

DCME merged into the FreeCME brand, and ContinuingEducation.com merged into the Relias Academy brand.

Relias acquired Straightaway Health Careers, specializing in healthcare customer experience and technology.

Relias acquired Educode Coding and EduCode CDI education for revenue cycle management. These merged into the Relias brand.

Relias acquired HOLLIBLU, a platform for the nursing community that merged into the Nurse.com brand.

Relias acquired InceptionXR, provider of virtual reality (VR)-based training solutions for healthcare professionals.

Relias acquired Feedtrail HealthcareXM, a patient and employee experience and reputation management platform.

In the same year, Relias Media was rebranded as Clinician.com to provide a stronger foundation to grow the platform and resonate more directly with our clinical audience.
