Gardner strengthens company’s clinical expertise and new role will focus on delivering improved client outcomes.
CARY, NC, April 25, 2017 – Relias Learning, a trusted partner in online analytics, assessments, and learning for the healthcare market, today announced the addition of Sandhya Gardner, M.D. as the company’s first-ever Chief Medical Officer. She will also be part of the company’s executive leadership team.
Prior to joining Relias, Gardner spent five years at Boston-based Advance Practice Strategies (APS), which was acquired by Relias in late-2016. She most recently served as Chief Content Officer, overseeing the development of educational programs designed to optimize healthcare outcomes by measuring and improving clinical knowledge and decision-making. Before joining APS, Gardner was a practicing obstetrician & gynecologist in the Greater Boston area.
“Relias is a dynamic organization with a growing influence in the rapidly changing healthcare industry, and I couldn’t be more excited to join them in this new role,” said Gardner. “As a physician, providing quality care and improving patient outcomes has always been my priority. As Chief Medical Officer, I’ll be able to play a key role in helping Relias’ clients achieve that goal.”
In her role as Chief Medical Officer, Gardner will provide clinical leadership and strategic guidance in developing assessment-driven learning products across the various healthcare verticals that Relias serves. She will guide the creation of products that blend analytics, assessments, and online learning to change staff behavior and improve clinical care.
“An area of strength and point of pride for Relias is the depth of our on-staff clinical expertise,” explained Jim Triandiflou, CEO of Relias Learning. “We have nearly two dozen combined Ph.D.s, M.D.s and R.N.s who create our content and an unmatched level of knowledge. Sandhya’s experience within a healthcare setting, as well as her work at APS make her the ideal person to be our first CMO.”
Relias has added nearly 50 employees in 2017 and currently employs almost 600 employees across offices in the U.S., China, Germany and the UK.
