Relias Learning Launches Community Employment Training to Support Integrated Employment Services

Community Employment courses provide agencies with the tools to implement a successful integrated employment model.

CARY, NC, January 28, 2014  Relias Learning, the leader in online training for providers of intellectual and developmental disability services, announced the release of an updated training category titled, “Community Employment.” The new category includes numerous courses developed to specifically assist agencies in implementing a successful integrated employment model.

“The courses in the Community Employment category help our customers as they move towards integrated employment and look to increase the value and referrals for their services” says Jim Triandiflou, CEO of Relias Learning. “The release of this category builds on our commitment to the industry and adds to our already extensive selection of training for intellectual and developmental disabilities providers.”

The Department of Justice and several states have identified integrated employment as the ideal employment choice for people with disabilities. Relias Learning’s new Community Employment category provides training to help agencies transition people with disabilities into the competitive work market. Relias worked with industry experts such as Griffin-Hammis Associates to develop courses on a variety of topics including:

  • Customized Job Development
  • Supplemental Security Income and Work
  • People with Disabilities Building Relationships and Community Membership

  • Creating Community Careers

Providers of intellectual and developmental disability services have been striving to provide inclusive services that support people with disabilities to live, work, play, and experience the full range of life opportunities within community settings of their choice.
