Get a detailed examination of the current environment of payment-related scrutiny in hospice and the most common reasons for an audit to be initiated by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid (CMS) contractors. Today’s most frequent auditing activities include Targeted Probe and Educate (TPE) audits, Unified Program Integrity Contractor (UPIC) audits, and Supplemental Medicare Review.
Contractor (SMRC) audits are discussed. This webinar also examines the direct correlation in aberrant data identified on a hospice provider’s Program for Evaluating Payment Patterns Electronic Report (PEPPER) and payment-related scrutiny. Lastly, this webinar includes recommendations for mitigating payment-related scrutiny including examination of a hospice’s Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) program, implementation of a compliance program, and conducting pre-billing audits to identify and remediate payment-related risk.
