Mental health disorders and suicidal ideation are topics not typically discussed in communities of color. However, research now shows that suicide rates among Black youth, adolescents, and adults is rising faster than other racial/ethnic groups. Now, with the COVID-19 pandemic and racial injustice protests further affecting Black mental health, it’s critically important that clinicians and organizations learn how to identify, assess, and prevent suicide.
