Home and Community-based Support Providers experience a crushingly high percentage of staff turnover, poor morale, and an inability to provide the high quality supports that people with disabilities and their families want and deserve. How do we fix it? The answer is complex and comprehensive. Approximately 80 % of the workforce in organizations and agencies that support people with disabilities is comprised of direct support professionals. They deliver the service and "product" that we all strive to assist people with disabilities to lead fulfilling lives in the community. This session will describe an organizational cultural change system to focus agency culture to one that fortifies and bolsters the development and recognition of direct support professionals.
