Session Description:
This presentation will discuss leadership in healthcare in the context of its impact on the ‘Triple Aim’ in healthcare (population health, experience of care, and per capita costs). Through its direct impact on culture, a poor leadership environment can have a tangible effect on staff turnover, efficient processes, patient focus, interdepartmental communication, and negatively impact experience of care and quality of care for the patient. There is strong evidence to support the assertion that building a strong leadership culture can have a direct impact on The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Quality Measures, which can in turn have a positive financial impact for the organization.The presentation will also address the complexities of leading in an environment where various members of the care team may not be full time employees of the organization or equally accountable to Human Resources.

Describe the power of a positive leadership Apply the basic principles of effective leadership in helping improve retention and staff/clinician efficiency.Describe the power of effective leadership in improving performance against CMS quality measures.

SHRM Preferred Provider: This course is approved for (1) contact hours.

Be present for the session in its entirety
Complete the session evaluation that will be emailed to participant within one week of conference
Certificates will be emailed to attendee within 30 days post-conference
