Session Description:
Join us for a workshop that targets turnover – what it is, why it is NOT going away, and some common sense things we can do to combat it. This workshop will provide strategies you can use for effectively hiring right, orienting and supporting staff so that they want to stay in your organization.
Learning Objectives:
Discuss the benefits of using behavioral interviewing model Practice using 2 behavioral interviewing techniques (STAR and peer review) Discuss the 3 components of Lee and Holstrom Job Embeddedness Theory Compare and contrast historical approaches to a compliance focused training model with an orientation model built on adult learning concepts Identify 2 ways your orientation programs can decrease time to train and increase engagement for learners. List 3 management practices that ensure your training makes it to the floor Discuss at least 2 ways that an organization’s culture can support or hinder learning on the floor

Accreditation Statements
Human Resources Certification Institute: This program has been approved for (3) (General) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.
American Nurses Credentialing Center: Relias Learning, LLC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
Nurses will receive (3) contact hours for participating in this course.
SHRM Preferred Provider: This course is approved for (3) contact hours.

Be present for the session in its entirety
Complete the session evaluation that will be emailed to participant within one week of conference
Certificates will be emailed to attendee within 30 days post-conference

Jan Wilson

Director of Learning Designs and Outcomes at Relias, Jan brings over 25 years of technology, human resources and learning expertise to the Relias Learning team. Her experience in senior care spans more than a decade, including serving as a senior executive of learning strategy with one of the country's largest providers. As an organizational development consultant, she has provided strategic planning, process alignment, curriculum development and planning and learning solutions to a variety of clients in pharma, healthcare, and state governments.
