More than 44 million Americans provide over 37 billion hours of unpaid, "informal" care each year to family member and loved ones. Family caregivers are sometimes referred to as “Secondary Patients” who, themselves, are in need of support and guidance. In this course, healthcare professionals will learn how to more effectively provide support to family caregivers, in an effort to help reduce the emotional, physical and financial effects of care giving.
This session will enable the learner to create a successful onboarding program for their hospice nurses that will minimize burnout, increase job satisfaction, increase nurse retention, and increase patient care and satisfaction.
