This session will describe a nonprofit organization’s efforts to incorporate mission and values into a portfolio based learning system.  Using the Relias platform as a hub, the learning system utilizes a dynamic training model to ensure engagement, practice opportunities and mastery of concepts.  We will describe the training model, along with the learner portfolio, to demonstrate how the application of these concepts enhance employee performance.  Please join this session if you are looking for practical strategies to make a real and sustainable impact with your organization’s training.

Gayatri Dubey
Gayatri Dubey is the Senior Coordinator for Quality Assurance and Staff Development for Innovative Resources for Independence (IRI). Gayatri has over ten years of experience working in the field of Traumatic Brain Injury and Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities. She is currently the lead person responsible for developing and implementing training efforts for the agency. Gayatri also oversees and manages the Relias system for over 600 employees.
John McGuigan
John McGuigan is the Associate Executive Director Program Operations & Quality Improvement for Innovative Resources for Independence. John McGuigan has devoted 20 years of his professional life to serving the needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. He joined IRI as Associate Executive Director of Program Operations & Quality Improvement in July 2016. In addition to providing oversight of IRI’s programs and operations, McGuigan has established relationships with various stakeholders at the state, business, and local levels. Mr. McGuigan built his career in leadership roles at Aid to the Developmentally Disabled, Inc., YAI Network, AHRC, and at The Devereux Foundation. He earned a Master’s in Social Work at Hunter College—City University of New York, and he holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Sociology from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
