ABOUT THIS COURSE:
IBS is a functional gastrointestinal disorder estimated to affect between 10-20% of the population, and can have considerable quality of life ramifications for those affected by it. While some medications are available to alleviate symptoms, the majority of IBS sufferers (60%) report an association between symptoms and diet as well, and often a combination of diet and medication is required to achieve symptom control. However, the variability in presentation of IBS symptoms coupled with the limited research regarding dietary interventions to improve IBS symptoms results in confusion among clinicians as to appropriate recommendations for their IBS patients.
