This week from May 11th to the 17th is reserved to honor the law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. National Police Week gives recognition to those who risk their lives on a daily basis for the protection of the general population.

On behalf of the entire staff at Relias Learning, and also as a member of the general population, I would like to thank everyone serving in a law enforcement capacity for everything you do. The challenges and dangers you face on a daily basis help provide the civilian population with a sense of security and safety. Each and every one of you makes up the backbone and foundation of this country’s well-being; and for that, we are all eternally grateful.

Events will be held all week in Washington D.C. and Alexandria, VA including:

• Tuesday, May 13 26th Annual Candlelight Vigil at the

National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial

• Wednesday, May 14 Day 1 National Police Survivors’ Conference

Alexandria, VA

• Thursday, May 15 33rd Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service

United States Capitol

• Friday, May 16 Day 2 National Police Survivors’ Conference

I urge everyone to take a moment this week and reflect on those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the well-being of others. It is through them, and all who serve in law enforcement, that we see true growth in this nation.
